Do Blank Guns need a License?

Although Blank Guns do not require a license, we do offer a Blank Gun Card FREE for all our customers as a valid means of proving that the Blank gun is legitimate and not a real firearm. 
Because the Blank Gun is so realistic, there have been cases of SAPS confiscating a gun which does not have a Blank Gun Card, so this card must be kept with your Blank Gun at all times. WE ALSO OFFER CARDS FOR GUNS BOUGHT ELSEWHERE, AT AN ADDITIONAL COST.

Blank Guns are realistic copies of firearms which sound, look and feel like a real firearm.

Blank guns shoot 2 different types of rounds: Blank and Pepper. The Blank Round creates an extremely realistic warning shot and causes fear and confusion in any attacker. The Pepper Round is used as the last resort and propels a cloud of pepper particles at close range (1m -2m).

CAN ALL BLANK GUNS SHOOT BOTH PEPPER AND BLANK BULLETS?

Blank guns can either be Top Venting or Front Venting. ‘Venting’ refers to where the energy of the bullet leaves the gun.

In a TOP venting gun, the energy of the bullet leaves the top of the gun, which means that pepper from a pepper bullet will go out the top of the gun. In a FRONT venting gun, the energy from the bullet will go out the front of the gun, which means that it can be used to shoot both Blank and Pepper bullets or ’rounds’.

Most BLOW guns are top venting which means they can only shoot blank rounds and not pepper rounds. RETAY and KUZEY guns are front venting which means they can shoot BOTH blanks and pepper rounds.
